This is a unique concept on Ischia, fusing a lodge house with an extravagant garden. This garden, along with the mature areas around Villa Ravino, is the result of 35 years of great passion and loving work of Signor Peppino, the owner of the Villa. The exotic trees include palms, olive, lemon and orange. Cascading over the walls, pergolas and terraces are grape vines as well as numerous flowering climbers - providing a multitude of rich colours. A speciality of Signor Peppino are succulent plants and cacti. These are abundant throughout the garden and obviously thrive in the Ischia climate. Throughout our scent and colour filled garden are paths and steps to let you wander through and take in the serenity..

RESIDENCE VILLA RAVINO Strada statale I- 80075 Forio d’Ischia

Dear Sirs and Madams,
Thank you for expressing your interest. Many of you undoubtedly already know ISCHIA, but for those who don’t , we would like to give you some information:
The island of ISCHIA is near Capri, in the Gulf of Naples. It is famous worldwide because of its volcanic origin: an island in the Mediterranean with a hint of the exotic, thanks to a marvellous climate. Rich vegetation, lively colours also in the winter months, summer activities from springtime to November with beaches … small romantic coves… boat trips … night life. Excursions to the Epomeo area, horse trekking, possibility of cultural visits to the archaeological sites of Pompei, Paestum, Ercolano, Vesuvius, along the Costa Amalfitana, to Capri etc.
This is only one of the island’s aspects. Indeed, in these magnificent surroundings beneficial thermal water cures are also available, in addition to mud bath treatment, inhalations and many other therapies which can be useful in treating rheumatic ailments, in speeding up healing after accidents and … which are also rejuvenating. So you can combine the useful with the pleasant.
Cure centres, like the “Poseidon Gardens” for example, (20 pools), or NEGOMBO parks
open from April – October, are not only heavenly centres set in a natural context, but they also provide help for our modern symptoms, such as stress, with alternative and avant-garde therapies. Natural spring-water alleviates and heals skin diseases, such as acne, eczema, allergies, psoriasis.
As to accommodation in Ischia, there are a number of choices. What we offer appeals to people who like to travel on their own, plan the day for themselves, without being tied down by timetables, and who would rather stay in a small family establishment than in a large complex. It doesn’t only involve renting an apartment, but also enjoying the advantages of a well-organized establishment, managed by the owners themselves who recreate the real atmosphere of a Guest House. You can enjoy a thermal bath every morning with pure water that springs at a temperature of roughly 38° as well as the outside pool. In the garden, with southern vegetation made up of rare exotic plants, there are many areas in which to relax, with deckchairs and day-beds, a solarium for sun-lovers. All the apartments have a private garden area or a terrace on which to dine, and indoor heating. On 2005 will be open our LOUNGE BAR in the Botanic Garden, to have a coffee, a little snack, to read a news paper in an marvellous ambiance.
Shops are easily reached, just 10 minutes walk ( also with home delivery); the town centre and, in the opposite direction, the Citara beach with the Poseidon gardens are only about 20 minutes away. There is a bus stop within 150 ms. with connections for the whole island. The island bus service is good, with frequent buses to all the main points of interest. Car-hire is reasonably priced.
We would like to draw your attention to our special offers before and after Easter time, also in October. From November to March, winter months longtime guests’ are welcome, (with special agreements) when Ischia appears as the typical Mediterranean island : with a few tourists, the easy contact with its very nice and agreeable local population.
For a def reservation we ask 1/2 of the rent in advance when booking. The weekly rate understands at apartment, not at person . The price includes weekly change of the linen.
Daily maid service on request on payment.
We can provide your transport from the Naples’ airport to Villa Ravino at the price of € 40.-- per person, one way (min. 2 persons, 2004 ) But it is very easy to reach the harbour of Naples and cross the sea on your one. We give all the necessary information with our booking-confirmation, also for the guests arriving by car or train. While booking your travel, bear in mind that the last ferryboat to Ischia leaves Naples at 21.55 H, and that it takes about 25/30 minutes with the taxi from the airport to the harbour MOLO BEVERELLO in Naples .Cost ca. € 30.-- Cordiali saluti , kind regards, Famiglia d’Ambra

Ravino botanic garden & resort
Ischia is an enchanting place lying in the heart of the Mediterranean, an hour’s sea journey from the city of Naples. Renowned for its volcanic origins and rich soil, Ischia offers a wonderful climate all year round with unforgettable landscapes immersed in blooming flora of vivacious colours, lemon, orange and olive trees and grape vines.
Your days can be taken leisurely on one of our numerous beaches or small romantic bays looking out at the deep blue Mediterranean sea. Alternatively you can explore Ischia’s historic villages and museums or take in the beautiful scenery on a walk or via horseback trekking. An unforgettable visit is to the beautiful garden “La Mortella” created by Lady Susana, the widow of Sir William Walton. Here you can listen to classical concerts during the summertime.
With our Mediterranean time-clock, you would have enjoyed an afternoon’s siesta and can now shop late into the evening. Otherwise evenings can be passed peacefully watching the sun setting over the sea whilst sampling fresh local dishes and wines in one of Ischia’s restaurants. Ischia has many religious festivals often resulting in evening fireworks and street entertainment.
A cradle of art, Ischia has hosted personalities of great humanity and culture such as Bargheer, Auden, Stendhal, Ibsen, Bursche, Neil Little, Kallman, Enrico d’Assia, Luchino Visconti. There are many local painters and sculptors with various galleries on the island.
In this stunning scenario, you will find an idyllic setting for cures and well-being. The thermal parks -with alternative and avant-garde therapies - are unique in the world and include the POSEIDON, NEGOMBO, APHRODITE, TROPICAL and CASTIGLIONE. Here you can bathe in mineral rich spa water refreshed daily from the hot volcanic springs, or sit in steam rooms cut into the rock – an experience dating back to the Roman times.
From Ischia there are daily excursions visiting the cultural and archaeological sites of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Mount Vesuvius, the beautiful Costa Amalfitana (Sorrento) and the island of Capri .
